Writer & Producer
After studying an MA in Philosophy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona with a FORD FOUNDATION fellowship, I started writing and producing films. I received different grants by the Mexican Nacional Council for Arts and Culture (CONACULTA) to write theatre plays, children stories and film scripts in Mixtec and Spanish. I have participated among others in the Cine Qua Non Writers Lab in Mexico, the Berlinale Talents Script Station, and in the ImagineNative / Netflix Indigenous Screenwriting Intensive Lab. I produced different films which screened among others in Washington DC Shorts, The Guadalajara International Film Festival and the Morelia International Film Festival. The short film The Last Council was nominated to the Mexican Film Critics Award Diosa de Plata and In Times of Rain won the award for Best Emerging Feature at the Oaxaca FilmFest.
Realicé una Maestría en Filosofía y una Maestría en Literatura Comparada en la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona con una beca de la Fundación Ford. Fui miembro del Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte en México y obtuve diferentes becas de CONACULTA para escribir guiones, cuentos y obras de teatro.
Participé en diversos talleres internacionales de cine, como el Programa de Desarrollo Babylon en Cannes, el Cine Qua Non Lab en Morelia, el Script Station del Berlinale Talents y el Lab de Guión de ImagineNative & Netflix. Escribí y produje diversos cortometrajes, documentales y el largometraje Tiempo de Lluvia. El cortometraje El Último Consejo recibió multiples premios y todas mis películas se han mostrado en festivales internacionales como el Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia, El Festival Internacional de Cine de Guadalajara, Washington DC shorts, Slamdance, entre otros.
